| I've had this edger/weedeater for over a year now and have never had any problems with it. I have a 1/3 acre yard with a normal size sidewalk. After mowing I edge the sidewalk and driveway as well as weedeat around my shed, garden, and several trees and it has never died mid-job. I keep it plugged in otherwise in my garage and it's worked great every time. It doesn't do as good a job as just an edger as the electric edgers are designed to do, but for the price and to be able to use it as a weedeater as well I have zero complaints. |
We love it!

| This trimmer works very well for us. It's so handy not to drag an electric cord all over the yard! Our yard is 63' x 261' so this is just perfect for us. |
loose screw in guard

| I bought two of these edgers, i have 3/4 acre to edge. Very large area. I like the way they edge, but yes the battery life is not good, thats why I have two. I can get all my edging done in one day using both. They are lightweight, quick start, and great cutting. I can handle with one hand. I have a ditch 150 feet to cut as well as around fence. It does all it advertises and more. I am very satisfied with only one problem, the screw in the guard keeps coming out. I have replaced it with a larger screw and so far so good. If it comes out again I plan on using a washer to hold it in. Apparently the plastic holding the screw is not sufficient to hold screw in place. Black and Decker could have done better on this part. All in all, I am greatly satisfied, as gas edgers were hard to start, heavy, costly, and a real pain in the butt. I like this product. |

I am a single mom of two and a new homeowner. I bought this last year as
a trimmer. Having a large lot and comparing my lawn to my neighbor's lawn,
I began looking to buy an edger. I was shocked at the prices as I personally
think trimming is needed more often. Was I happily surprised to discover
that this little gizmo edges, also! I went on the B&D website and found the
easy instructions on how to convert it from a trimmer to an edger. I haven't tried
the edger yet, but am very pleased with the trimmer and have had no problem at all with
the battery life. |

Impressive, easy to use and smart looking. This is a formidable compact unit. It gets the job done in short order. I had no battery issues or problems. It worked fine for me. It is a matter of seeing the glass half empty vs. seeing it half full.
